Meet LuLu

Lulu is a beautiful young English Setter around 1 year of age. Lulu currently resides in Southern Oregon with her English Setter sister, Duchess, and feline brother, Milo.
Lulu is a little busy bee, who can play with toys and chews for hours. She would do best in a large backyard where she can practice her fastest sprints, and toss her toys in the air. Even though this girl has early onset hip dysplasia, she doesn’t let this slow her down! She is very active, and would love a family who could take her walking or swimming. Lulu is currently taking supplements to keep her hips as healthy as possible.
Lulu was born deaf, and has been working hard in her foster home to teach her parents her language. She is very smart, and quick to learn (errr, teach). She knows the hand signals for sit, stay, come, release, and shake. She has also started working on very low level e-collar training commands. This training will take more time, and her furever family will be very instrumental in its continuation.
Lulu loves others dogs, and would do best in a home with another dog. Not only does she look up to her foster sister for cues, the two love to wrestle! All rough play aside, Lulu would also like a sibling who would maybe share a bed or couch, and cuddle up for a movie after a long day of sniffing around (she has a great sense of smell!). When Lulu is ready to cuddle with her foster parents, she lets them know by sitting in front of them. She quickly gets scooped up for a good cuddle! Lulu is crated when her foster parents are at work (she has light chasing tendencies that can lead her to trouble when not supervised). But when her foster parents are home, she is allowed free range of the house and furniture.
Because Lulu cannot hear, and can be quite exuberant with her antics, she would not be a good fit for a family with children. It’s not that Lulu doesn’t like kids; she would lick them clean with a smile on her face. It’s more that Lulu would do best in a calm environment with patient parents who could help her manage her very active imagination. Sometimes Lulu and her foster mom just have to take a time out on the floor to practice quiet time together.
This energetic girl has nothing but play in her heart, and love to give. She does best when included in family activities and a normal routine, and is not a good candidate for spending hours alone. Lulu would love nothing more than to find a family who is willing to reciprocate her love, and provide the positive direction and reassurance that she so needs!
