Harley Terrier Mix Chatham, ON

REQUIREMENTS: Secure, fenced yard, only respectful, gentle children

This energetic, little guy is about 9 years old and weighs 15 lbs. He loves getting attention, is quite the cuddler and enjoys being petted. He has character, willingly returns love to those who offer it and enjoys the company of others. Once trust is established he will happily sit on a lap and adopt a submissive posture. Fosters have observed him to be very gentle with children of all ages, providing they are gentle with him.

Harley can be choosey about who he likes and does not like when he meets larger dogs. He currently is not living with other dogs and seems content to be on his own and do his own thing.
He does not give cats a second look, just gives a sniff and walks by.

So far, he shows no interest in any toys but he gets very excited to go for walks or car rides. A deformed front right paw does not slow him down but he is best walking on grass rather than sidewalks.

He has a hernia on his tummy which the vet has examined and reported that it does not need any attention. If repaired, it would only be for cosmetic purposes.

Harley loves his people and if treated with kindness, will be an excellent companion. He needs a secure fenced yard and an adopter who respects a dog and will not aggressively force him to do something. Even with rough play, he has never snapped at his fosters. But, if he is in a situation where he is uncomfortable, he will growl. Harley can easily be misunderstood as grumpy. In actual fact he is quite intelligent and has a genuine desire to please, but his stubborn gene occasionally interferes and he vocally lets you know about it.
