This flashy little girl is Isla (pronounced “ayla”). She’s a mini Aussie, just 9 months old, and first and foremost has an outstanding disposition. Isla is super social with people and has lived with kids since she was a puppy. She loves to meet anyone and everyone. She’s great with other dogs - super playful and fantastically appropriate with those game, she'll wrestle and chase and tug, but leaves those who don’t like that kind of action alone. She has also been appropriate around cats and even potbellied pigs.
She was bought as a puppy by some very well-intentioned folks, who have put a lot of effort into raising her well, but they have come to realize she is way more dog than they can handle. And it’s true - Isla is high energy and very intelligent!
A dream for the right family, but definitely more busy bee than snuggle bug. She has a wonderful off switch but only after a good chunk of vigorous exercise daily, which she needs to be at her best. She likes to play fetch and go for outdoor adventures like long walks, hikes, and bike rides. And of course, play with other dogs. She really enjoys the snow and could probably make a great ski companion once she is older.
Isla is housetrained, cratetrained, and familiar with the basics. She loves to learn and soaks up her lessons, and is even learning a few tricks like roll over and crawl. She could use more work on coming when called, impulse control, and walking nicely on a leash, but hey, she’s only 9 months old!!! This dynamite pup in a little package - probably about 30 pounds - is going to make some herding dog lover very happy. And in case you haven’t noticed, she is stunning. We really can't say enough good things about this girl!!! Isla is located near Jackson, Wyoming and prospective adopters will have to travel there to meet her.
