Rogan Labrador Retriever Mix Smithfield, NC

Hi there, I'm Rogan, and if you look into my eyes, you can probably see that the human world still kind of makes me nervous. I'm about 5 months old, and when I first got to my foster home I was scared of just about everything, especially the people. Luckily, the other dogs there made me feel safe and have really helped build my confidence, so I will need to go to a home where I will have doggy playmates to show me the ropes. I've started to enjoy hanging out with the humans, and even look for affection and to play a little tug with them, but I still startle easily and will hide in my crate or under something if I get scared or overwhelmed. Sometimes I have a hard time feeling sure about returning the house after going out to potty and play too, so I will need someone who has a lot of patience and can be very gentle and encouraging of me as I continue to learn that people and life inside are good. I would prefer a home with no small children too, as they move way too fast for my liking! I'm getting really good at potty training, and I'm crate trained as well, but I don't know any cats so I'm not sure how I feel about them yet.
