Max Steel Boxer Mix Levittown, NY

Max Steele was saved from NYACC Manhattan by Pit of Our Souls Rescue in February 2018 and has been living in his foster home since then awaiting his forever family.

Update Fall 2018: Max is awaiting surgery on his knee while he settles into his new foster home where he will be safe and comfortable for the best recovery possible.

Max is a 6 year old tall, slim male boxer mix who is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. Overall, Max requires surgery on his leg, which he is currently awaiting to be scheduled. He continues to be mobile; jumping on/off the bed, walking/down stairs, getting in/out of the car, etc. Otherwise Max is in good health with no concern.

Behaviorally, Max has shown to be dog selective (lived happily with older female prior to shelter, unsure once pulled into new home), but has been opening up. After his surgery is complete, we are looking to do slow intros to see how he handles it. Max does not care to be around small animals, but he does love children and spending time with his people. His favorite things are to chew his bones, as well as simply be with those who care for him; laying in bed with his people at night and laying by their feet and relaxing during the day.

At this time, Max is looking for a home with no other animals to allow for the best possible recovery from his medical care. Max does not like being crated or lonely for too long, and so prefers his people to have lots of time during the day to dedicate to him.
