Meet Sherlock

We realize it is "Elementary" but as you can see this is one handsome young fella. Meet 18 month old Sherlock! Certainly not "the Hound of the Baskervilles"this young man is much more debonair and refined. Super sleuth extraordinaire Sherlock is presently inveistinghis options for a new home that will challenge him and keep him engaged in expanding his super sleuthing skills!

Sherlock is a very smart young weim with charisma and charm to spare! He is great with the dogs in his foster home and gets along with all females. Males take a bit of a slower introduction as he can be a little pushy with the other boys. Once they are introduced all is well and playtime can start!. Sherlock is very affectionate and loving and will be like your own special shadow tracking your every move. He loves to sit on your feet and just lean into you for pets and scratches. He also loves to pass the time doing "chippie watch" on the front window while he hones his surveillance skills. Fit and trim he is in peneomal shape and displays terrific speed when running in the yard. His recall is relatively good but he does need some elash work. A quiet dog, not a big barker he will alert you when someone comes up the drive or the chipmunks are getting too close to the front door! The right home for Sherlock will be one with adults that have the ability to give him the structure, mental stimulation and exercise he needs. Lots of structured playtime and training time will be required to keep him on the right behavioral path. If you feel that you can provide a great home environment for Sherlock and want to add an exceptional young dog to your family please go to our site and complete an application. Sherlock would like to "investigate" the possibilities of a adoption match!

Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weims in the Great Lakes region; including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.

GLWR is headquartered in Michigan with a network of foster homes in our State & Country Chapters. We do not have a shelter that is open for the public to visit. All applicants must be approved before meeting any dog in our foster network.

GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to meet one of our dogs fostered in one of our Satellite Chapters, then you are welcome to apply for adoption. All dogs not listed as being fostered in a specific State or Country Chapter, are fostered in Michigan.

Please visit our website at www.GreatLakesWeimRescue.com to see a complete list of weims that are waiting for their forever homes! The availability status of any Weimaraner listed on our site is subject to change without notice. Please contact our Adoption and Applications Coordinator for current availability status.
