Meet Maxine

Maxine: Mahvelous does not even begin to describe Maxine who is a super fun mix of Dachshund and Lab most likely, making her a big dog in a smaller package. Maxine arrived, very pregnant, to Saving Grace and immediately found a cushy foster home and within a short stay gave birth to her kids. Maxine has been a stellar mother first and foremost, which automatically makes her the bees knees with us! Maxine is quite simply a hoot to be around daily. She adores her two legged foster sister and is the new BFF and bestest girl to her four legged and much bigger foster bro! Maxine is about 2-3 years old and about 35 lbs full grown. Things we have learned about Maxine in foster care include her love for zoomies around the house, chewing on Nylabones and enjoyment of anything food related. The possible best quality of this sweet girl is her super heater powers, which makes her THE best napping and snuggling partner. Maxine has a zero personal space bubble which makes for a nuzzling and cuddling like you have never experienced before. Maxine is crate trained and house trained but spends time in her crate when her foster family is away because she is still young and enjoys chewing when she has some extra energy. Maxine does not love the car yet as it makes her a bit nervous but she is a strong minded woman who will not loose her cookies in even a stressful situation. She is working on the art of leash walking and would really do wonderfully in a house with another dog as she really enjoys that companionship as much she adores her humans. This girl has been one of the best of houseguests but is ready to be free of responsibilities and ready for life as a single lady again, who will NOT be having any more babies! Life with Maxine will be like margaritas and fiestas daily and we are not even sure we can let her go!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

Our Adoption Form can be completed online https://savinggracenc.org/how-to-adopt/. Please visit our new website at https://savinggracenc.org

An Adoption Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home.

Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes.

If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit https://savinggracenc.org/giving/

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
