Meet Sydney

When folks come to the farm looking for a dog, there are always certain boxes they want to check in deciding on their forever family member. It begins to help us form the notion of what our adopters consider the perfect dog. Are they potty trained? Are they good with kids? Good with older people? Trustworthy outside of a crate? Able to walk on a leash? Lazy? Easy to manage? So is there a perfect dog for real? We know that answer is no, but some come pretty close to it and it baffles us as to why Sydney is still with us waiting for the forever he has more than earned in his life!! Sydney, AKA the man with the steel bladder, is the easiest dog EVER to have around. He appears to be lazy most of the time and you might find yourself wondering if he even knows a higher speed until you open the back door, buy a cushy dog bed or break out a peanut butter Kong. Watch out then folks, best move out o his way! Sydney looks at the valuables in your home and sees just that. A couch to sit on that is best with the stuffing in it and shoes that should be worn to walk rather than seeing TOY emblazoned on everything. He could be trusted to babysit your 1 month old or 90 year old grandmother. He is wonderful with children and would not mind having any around during his retirement years which makes him a better dog then most! Sydney is about 8 years old and has put on some weight since arriving at the farm and is about 70 lbs and while he might tell you otherwise, he is not in need of any additional food in the future. Bottom line, Sydney is an older guy who happens to be a hound and was likely never Fabio and that is the absolute worst thing we can say about this sweet soul who has waited a long time. So, if you are in the market for literally THE perfect dog, take time to meet this shining star of wonderful cloaked in what seems an ordinary body.

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

Our Adoption Form can be completed online https://savinggracenc.org/how-to-adopt/. Please visit our new website at www.savinggracenc.org

An Adoption Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home.

Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes.

If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit https://savinggracenc.org/giving/

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
