Charlie Brown Hound Mix Smithfield, NC

Charlie “Brown” is a 1 1/2 yr old neutered male hound, pitbull mix. He’s house trained, crate trained, walks on a leash, he’s up to date on vaccines, current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and microchipped with lifetime registration. He’s dog social (with proper introduction) and loves people. When we found Brown he weighed 32lbs, his ears were torn up from frost bite, his coat was brittle and dingy, you could see every bone in his body, and when we bathed him (3 times) the water turned brown - some from mud, some from all flea dirt. Brown has come a very long way. He’s now 54lbs and his coat has completely changed color thanks to good nutrition. He allows his people to stick their hands in his food dish, to take toys and high value bones right out of his mouth. He’s currently in a home with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would love to go to a home with a younger dog who likes to rough house and play. He’d also be great as an only dog. Brown needs a home without cats. He rides wonderfully in the car. We always transport in a kennel, but he jumps right up in there and enjoys the ride without getting car sick. Brown knows sit, shake, down, wait, and come. As with any dog, Brown will do best with someone committed to his training. He’s very smart, and very eager to please. He’s one dog who’s truly grateful for a second chance.
