Meet Solomon
Solomon was rescued from the snowy and frigid outdoors in early January, and shows all the signs of having been a house cat in his previous life. He is regal and solemn in his demeanor — though he seems unsure of what led to him doing time in a cage, he makes no fuss and waits patiently for us let him out for some liberty. Wanting no trouble with the younger, more active cats, he will quietly find a cozy to curl up in, or he might sit a bit on a volunteer's lap, soaking up a little affection before he chooses finds his favorite napping spot. He seems just the tiniest bit anxious about the other cats, probably unsure of his place in the pecking order, and also a bit sad at his current circumstances, as if he's wondering what happened to his old life. He was very sweet with a young teenage girl he met, sat on her lap and enjoyed getting attention from her, but after a few minutes, he was happy to go find a cozy again. So we know he will be fine with older children, and doesn't seem to have a problem with other cats. Solomon tested well with a large, gentle shelter dog he met, appearing to be completely unfazed by the presence of the dog.
