Meet Ava

Some dogs enter our lives to be companions, others to be our children, others to be dogs of service and some choice few to be a very best friend. Our sweet brindle girl Ava, who is about 2 years old and a lab and American Staffordshire Terrier mix, is truly the epitome of the latter. She is a dog that will undoubtedly be the best friend her most lucky owners may ever find in their lives. We do not say this lightly but will be happy to provide the abounding evidence to support this claim. See, Ava is as smart as a whip and we are certain if she had thumbs she would hashtag all of her amazing qualities! She knows a number of commands and honestly has endless potential to learn anything if it means pleasing her family and being close to them. In most ways, Ava is a ready made best friend as she has been in foster care for a number of weeks and has shown what a truly amazing girl she is in a home. She is completely, yes you heard us correctly, completely house trained and has never had an accident which is not surprising if you refer back to her super smarts. Ava has been a friend to all dogs she meets and has blended in with two much larger foster sisters without any ado at all. Belly rubs are the bomb in Ava's eyes and are consistently repaid in excessive kisses from her to the lucky giver. The winter months are coming and your flannel sheets letting you down? No worries, Ava never disappointments in her snuggling abilities and might as well be considered a little heater for your toes! Got squeaky toys? Ava is your girl! She will take them to sleep with her or to the bathroom with her as a girl has to have her important things on hand when the need to squeak arises! Ava walks well on a leash and is most stellar in her performance when using a harness and has been known to greet and even kiss strangers along the way. Ava's most ideal family would share her love of the outdoors and appreciate her love of nature and her sporty and athletic traits. Ava is a medium sized girl who weighs about 40 lbs but a quick look at her physique speaks to her love of exercise and stimulation. Ava can walk, jog, hike or run as far as you want her to and enjoy every moment of it! While it has turned chilly, visits to the lake with her foster mom suggest Ava would enjoy water activities as well and she surely LOVES rolling in the sand and crunching through the leaves. We just know her perfect family is out there, which by the way can certainly involve children and other dogs as Ava has more than enough love to spread around a house. To count oneself as having a true best friend in life is to count oneself lucky. Today is your lucky day!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee.

The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at www.savinggracenc.org or by clicking on the links below: Click here to download an adoption request today. Click here to download an adoption contract. Click to see our events! Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
