Meet Darryl and Merle - Bonded pair
REQUIREMENT - secure, fenced yard, respectful children 12+
We can only accept applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, London, Sarnia and points within these boundaries.
These 2 little brothers are truly a bonded pair of 2 year old Chihuahuas who love and need each other. They are quite entertaining and sometimes bicker like brothers would.
Darryl and Merle were dumped in a wooded area in the country. They ran away from the people who tried tirelessly to help them but were finally caught, vetted and placed in a loving foster home. It is no surprise that they were...and still are...very untrusting and scared of people. Even after several months, they have only bonded with their foster mom. They are affectionate with her but do not interact with the other family members.
They are housebroken, but in winter will use pads on bitter cold days. They are both well behaved on car rides, are good on leash and enjoy walks. Both dogs have had thorough dentals. Having been exposed to the elements, they are frightened of thunderstorms and are nervous of loud or sudden movements.
DARRYL
4.2 lbs.
Low activity level
Darryl needs TLC but once he bonds, he loves to give kisses and just sit in the sun. He tolerates other small dogs but is very comfortable with his brother.
MERLE
4 lbs.
Medium activity level
Merle is good with big or small dogs, loves to run and play and flips over on his back when he wants up! He is otherwise healthy but needs to continue medication for a heart murmur.
What is the best home for Darryl and Merle? They need a safe, fenced yard as they love to play outdoors. They are tolerant of other dogs, cats and young children but would prefer to be your focus. Patience and commitment is of utmost importance! They need lots of time to gain trust.....you will be rewarded with a loving, forever loyal pair of pups. They deserve to feel safe, loved and happy.
