So, I thought I should tell everyone that they told me I have a little bit of something called 'separation anxiety'. Is that a good thing? Well, as it turns out, since I lost my sight, I am sort of scared to be alone, so I bark and cry a lot, if left alone (and by alone, I mean no humans or canine companions). It might be better if I was in my warm, snuggly furever home, and had some time to get used to feeling loved, but I can't really say for sure. So, if you are someone who is home most of the time, or have a canine buddy that would be home with me, that would be the best fit for me. Or, if you are one of those very special people who takes their pup with them when you go places . . .I'm all up for that!! But you have to promise to NOT leave me in the car alone, especially in the heat, and even for just a few minutes, because that's not safe for me.

I know it sounds like I might be kind of a pain, but I am such a sweet little guy, I just LOVE everyone!! I am house-broken, but of course, I will need some help finding the door, at first, since I can't see it. (I'm sure my foster Mom, or Ms Erika will show you how to help me.) I am also crate trained, but don't like to be alone in there. Again, if I can sense that I have at least a canine buddy who is close by, I am okay. It's just the 'alone' that scares me. I have been sleeping in a crate at night while I am getting used to things, and I'm okay with that, because I can sense that someone is home with me.

Oh! And the Vet seems to think I am closer to 3, or maybe 4, instead of being 5 already. Whew! To be young again feels great :)

Hi ! I'm Marvin, and I have been saved by some humans at a place called Green Dogs Unleashed. While I cannot see it for myself (being blind), they tell me that I am at a place called a 'foster home'. It is a warm and cozy place, where there is tasty food and lots of love. These humans really knew how to make me feel right at home!! While I don't know for sure who my parents were, they tell me that I look an awful lot like a Shih Tzu, and I think I'm about 5 (human) years old. I included a photo so you could decide if I look like one of those Shih Tzu things :) I'm a pretty friendly guy, I am easy-going, and I just love to snuggle. Since I am a new arrival, they really have not had much time to get to know me, so there isn't much more info to share right now. As soon as I have the opportunity to meet some kids, maybe a dog or two, and possibly a kitty, I will get back with you and share my experience!!

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, bordetella, heartworm test and preventative if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. It also includes a new family member starter kit, a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and some special items they may have grown attached to in their foster home. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
