Meet Sloane

Meet SLOANE:: New to our rescue:: 9-10 months old, Neutered Male German Shepherd Dog, 40 lbs.

PLEASE READ MY BIO BEFORE APPLYING TO ADOPT ME.

Sloane was rescued from a high kill shelter after being dumped over their fence over night. He needs some house breaking reinforcement training, but he does well in a crate and actually prefers to have one readily available for naps, he is great with other dogs, good with kids, knows basic commands, and is good on a leash. Sloane can be a little shy when he first meets new people, but he warms up quickly and once he warms up, he's a total sweetheart.

Sloane will need a loving family who will provide him with proper exercise and training. German Shepherds are active and very intelligent dogs who require more mentally stimulating activities. Sloane does have weak pasterns (shown in photos), a genetic condition that causes hyper-extension of the front paws, commonly seen in show line GSD's, but we do not know his lineage or where he originally came from before he found himself abandoned in a high kill shelter. The condition may cause him to become tired quicker than other dogs during walks and play time, and could later cause some mild discomfort, especially if he is not kept at a proper weight. He is still young, so there is still a chance he may out grow this, but so far, methods such as providing him with a proper diet, is not improving the condition and it may likely be lifelong. A carpeted home with minimal stairs would probably be best for Sloane.

A securely fenced yard is REQUIRED to adopt Sloane.

$250 Adoption fee. Sloane is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, current on heartworm/flea prevention, and microchipped.

Puppy adopters MUST BE within a one hour radius of Cincinnati.
