Meet Waffles

Waffles (previously known as Keller) is still looking for his forever home. We have re-listed him with a total update, as he has been in training at his foster home, and she has done an awesome job!! He is a whole new dog and comes with all kinds of manners, loves everything and everyone, and is all ready to make someone an amazing companion. He knows sit, down, come, stay, and place. He even walks on a treadmill for exercise, when he can't get outside! Please check out the video we have listed, which gives lots of great updated info on this guy.

Waffles is a totally terrific Dogo Argentino mix (or maybe not a mix - we don't know for sure). He is between one and two years old, His perfect family will be bully-savvy and be willing to COMMIT to giving him the time he needs to decompress, after arriving in his new home. He needs a little patience and understanding. Imagine if you were just a young, deaf pup and were bounced from home to shelter, to another home, then another. We are pretty sure it would be confusing for anyone. He just doesn't understand what's going on and needs some help to get settled and figure things out.

He is one incredible boy with amazing potential, but he is deaf and at first, gets very confused with big change. He needs a couple of weeks to get settled in, to realize that this is where he belongs, and that he can feel safe. He still needs his new owner to be a strong leader with structured rules. He needs a routine, so he can learn who is in charge and what is expected of him. He is still very much a puppy and may be a little to rambunctious for little kids, so an adult home, or a home with kids over 12 years of age, would be best.

This guy is a HUGE love-bug, and will provide you with hours of love and cuddles. He has done very well on a gentle leader. A home with a solid fenced yard (no electric fences) would be the best thing for him, considering his deafness. It would allow him to get settled and have his own space to play and get exercise, rather than having to take him out walking into a strange, new world right away.

Please consider opening your home to this sweet guy. He needs someone like YOU!

Keller joined us at our Adoption event a few weeks ago. As you can see in the photo, he was spreading the love while he was there!!

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, bordetella, heartworm test and preventative if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. It also includes a new family member starter kit, a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and some special items they may have grown attached to in their foster home. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals. For more information about our mission and for an application for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com.
