Everybody loves kittens but golden oldies love everybody! I am a very special, senior boy who has never had a home or know the security of someone to love and care for me. That doesn't stop me from being one of the most affectionate, chill, cuddly cats you could want!

My name is Artemis and I’ve spent almost my entire life on the streets of Phuket, Thailand. I never understood why no-one came forward to love me. Sadly, the people near my territory started to be unkind to the “alley cat” they thought I was, and one day they cruelly shot me with a BB gun.

I was seriously injured and with nobody to turn to, I quickly became weaker. The wound to my face was seriously infected and very painful. I started to give up and went into hiding. When someone finally found me, they brought me to the Soi Dog shelter for help. This was my first experience of a gentle touch - of kindness and love. While treating me they found out I'm FIV positive. My condition is nothing to worry about. FIV can be contagious to non-vaccinated cats through a deep bite wound, but I can lead a normal and happy life with you. Will you please give me that chance? I am an affectionate boy who likes to wrap my arms around your neck and give you a little hug. I promise for all the love you give me I will give it back two fold! I do need a prescription food to avoid urinary crystals, but that's easy to get from the vet. I don't need anything else but you!

FIV is only contagious to other unvaccinated cats through a deep bite so they can live with other cats (and indeed he was fostered with other cats over the holiday without any issues). He's also happy to be your one and only. Please don't let that stop you from having this wonderful guy join your family. FIV cats generally live full, healthy lives. The adoption fee for this cat is $150, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter surgery and microchip. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered.
