Meet Dew and Fanta
Dew(blue) and Fanta(yellow) are beautiful parakeet/budgies. They came to us recently from a much larger shelter that was overwhelmed by the number of birds that were surrendered there. They believe Dew and Fanta to be ladies and about 5 yrs. old. These lucky ladies are in a foster home where not only do they "step up" but they are now eating out of the hands of their family.
Having such colorful and happy birds can brighten any winter's day.
Parakeets are social animals that enjoy spending time outside of their cages. Hand tamed parakeets can be trained to do tricks or sit on your shoulder. Our parakeet adoption fee is $25.
Parakeets need fresh fruits and vegetables as part of a healthful diet. There are many fruits and vegetables they can eat including: grated carrots, green leafy vegetables, raw broccoli, and apple slices.
We give priority to people that fill out our adoption application, so if you are interested in meeting one of our birds, that is the first step. E-mail inquiries about a bird are not considered an application.
