Meet Everest

Everest, a deaf, pure-bred, Dalmation pup, was about 16 weeks old when he came to Green Dogs Unleashed. This handsome boy came to us from a breeder who reached out to us because they knew we worked with special needs pups, and that we would give him the training he needs to become a fabulous family companion. Over the past 10 weeks, he has been working to learn sign language, and is hoping to find a family that would be excited to continue his training. He has also been working on agility training. You can see videos of his training on the Green Dogs Unleashed Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPKq-GKHXaPytF97SoUrdzg We feel that with his personality. he would make a great Therapy dog, and we would ask that his adopters live within a one-hour drive of Troy, Virginia, so that he can continue his training with us, and hopefully become a part of our Therapy team..

This little guy is sweet as sugar, is VERY playful and he loves everything and everyone. His foster family has a resident cat, who doesn't seem to be the least bit concerned that he is there, or vice versa.

Everest will need a home with a doggy door, leading to a fully fenced yard. Unfortunately, electric fences are not appropriate for deaf dogs.

If you have questions, or are interested in adding me to your family, please complete an adoption application, which can be found at the Green Dogs Unleashed website, under the forms tab. www.greendogsunleashed.org

PLEASE NOTE: Our first communication will be via email, so please keep an eye on both your inbox AND your spam folders. There will not be a phone call until later in the process.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. The foster family may send along a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and if they have grown particularly attached to a special toy, blanket, etc., they may send this as well. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
