Meet Chance

This friendly, smart, energetic Dalmatian is totally deaf. He is looking for a loving family that is committed to keeping him busy and well-mannered. In other words, he will not be a couch potato kinda dog. He will need a runner, or at least couple of long walks daily, and plenty of play time. Agility training might be a good option to keep his attention, and keep him out of trouble.

At Just 16 weeks old, and about 16 lbs, this happy boy came to us so that he could get the training necessary to live life as someone's very best friend. He loves long walks, playing with other dogs, swimming, and snuggling. He is very food-motivated and a fast learner. Chance uses a dog door and will reliably go outside to potty on his own. He does well in a crate and knows to go in when his foster Mom points a finger into the crate. He has been working hard to learn sign language, and already knows signs for "sit", "kennel", "come", and "good boy". Male Dalmatians average 55 lbs when full grown. Chance has not yet been neutered due to breed tendencies, but he will be neutered prior to finalizing his adoption.

PLEASE NOTE: */*/* Chance is currently only available to adopters local to Fluvanna or Albemarle Counties, in Virginia, and the counties immediately surrounding our Troy, Virginia location. */*/* Should you choose to complete an adoption application, please watch your email and spam folders, as email will be our first point of contact.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate, heartworm test and preventative if age appropriate and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. The foster family may include a small transitional bag of the food they have been on, and they have grown attached to a particular item while in their foster home (such as a blanket or toy), they may send that along as well. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
