Meet Amos

“You earn trust through honesty.” Amos is looking for an honest family with patience, love in bounds and a safe place he can finally call home! See, when Amos first arrived at the farm he was fearful of everyone and terribly skinny having lived all of his young life as a stray. Amos is about a year old and while he may have been significantly underweight upon arrival, Amos has filled out very nicely and has a most beautiful of tri-colored coats sported by his Walker Hound breed. Amos also has a rather quirky walk associated with a leg that maybe did not develop properly or might have been a result of an injury earlier in his life, but it does not slow him down an ounce and we actually believe it makes him that much more adorable. Amos if nothing if not honest and is happy to share he is wonderful in a crate and is quiet and patient at all times. He is playful and truly a friend and companion to every dog he meets. Amos is sweet and smart and still very innocent and childlike, but not in the crazy puppy kind of way. Amos would be wonderful in home with children though probably ones who are slightly older and phased out of playing crash and cowboys and Indians while running around the see. See, Amos will be honest too about some of his worries because he has some having never known the kindness of people until recently. He can be fearful of large men and booming voices and would likely not be a huge fan, at least for a while, of loud parties and lots of chaos though we suspect with enough time in a loving home with people who adore him will become more comfortable with many of those things. The most honest truth about Amos that means the most is that you can see through his shyness and easily identify all the signs from the wagging rear end, to sweet face and hopeful eyes as well as swinging tail that while he might be timid, he wants NOTHING more in the world that your love. We are certain you will know, reading about Amos, if you are the family and home for him!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee.

The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at www.savinggracenc.org or by clicking on the links below: Click here to download an adoption request today. Click here to download an adoption contract. Click to see our events! Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
