Meet Hunter
Hunter is a six year old silver male located in West Olive, MI. Hunter is the perfect gentlemen, and is good with dogs, kids, and doesn't have a strong prey drive. He has very good leash manners unless he's on his way to play fetch or go to doggie daycare in which case his enthusiasm gets the best of him and he can't help pulling on his leash! Hunter taught his foster brother that you can indeed fit two tennis balls in your mouth when playing fetch! Clearly he is a pro at the game. Hunter was surrendered by his owners because they could no longer manage his separation anxiety. We are seeking a home for him where through exercise, routine, training and patience he can be worked with to avoid separation and reduce his anxiety. A retired family or one where someone works from home would be ideal. Hunter did great when he attended doggie daycare!. Hunter could be an only dog, or could be a great addition to a pack. Hunter has completed beginner and intermediate obedience, so all the foundations are there, but he could use some polishing on his verbal commends. He does very well with "Sit", "Shake", "Come", "Down". "Stay" needs some work, but he is very food motivated and that makes training move along quickly! Hunter is quite the snuggler, and prefers to be under covers when snuggling with a human or laying in his dog bed at night. If he's not snuggling, or playing fetch, Hunter would love to go for a car ride. He is wonderful in the car and really seems to enjoy looking out the window and watching the world go by!
