Sophie Pekingese & Chihuahua Mix Clayville, RI

Sophie has a regal bearing and a happy disposition, just the right combination for a small dog. She is mature and ladylike and likes meeting new people, but takes a little longer to warm up to men. She is not very fond of the other shelter dogs, though she did live happily with a small, younger female for many years before they lost their home. Perhaps with proper introduction she could learn to live with another small dog. Sophie really seems to like her spa days — she behaves well during a bath and enjoys being brushed. She is also great on a leash, loves to go for walks, loves to run around the dog yard chasing balls and toys, and comes right away when beckoned by her volunteer friends. Sophie really deserves to spend the rest of her years at the side of a companion who will cherish this lovely lady forever, so please consider welcoming her into your home. She seems to be okay around cats, but a home without young children will be best for this small, older dog.

Sophie is 13 years old and in very good health. She is housebroken, current on vaccinations, heartworm treatments, and flea/tick treatments.
