Checkers-great AGILITY dog! Parson Russell Terrier Mix Stewartsville,, NJ

Checkers is very sweet and friendly-- puppish and playful, high energy like a Jack Russel. Because his teeth are bright white and he is puppy-playful, we're guessing he's under a year old, maybe 8 months. He's a little bigger than your average JRT with long legs, but he jumps straight up in the air as the JRTs do. Checkers has had a full round of obedience training by a professional trainer and he is doing really well! She says he is very, very smart and has learned many commands. He's a really fun dog that would benefit from continued obedience training or agility and needs a fully fenced (physical fence, no electric fences) yard where he can run run run and play with his toys--he LOVES toys. He is house trained and is ok in a crate. Because of his energy level, he would do best with older kids and a dog-savvy household. He's about 30 lbs. Checkers was a stray in Georgia in grave danger at the shelter and we brought him to safety here in NJ. He is in foster home in the Bangor, PA area. We're not sure yet how he would be with other dogs, but he might be too much for them because he is so playful. Probably not a good match for cats. A family that has the time to play with him a lot and exercise him and work on his training would be ideal. He is up to date on his shots and heartworm negative and on prevention. Checkers is neutered and microchipped.

His adoption fee is $300 and includes all his vetting through his neuter and all vaccinations.
