Meet Leah

Leah is a Staffordshire Terrier mixed breed (maybe she has some Plott Hound?). She was born February 8, 2017, so she's almost 5 months old. For such a youngster she is very good at being affectionate and taking cuddle time seriously. She is spayed, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. She will be a medium sized dog.
Leah knows how to sit and is treat motivated, so she will continue to learn easily if you are willing to spend some time consistently training her. Her latest adventure is swimming! She loves to swim and jumps right in the family pool without reservation.
Leah is cat, dog, and kid social. She is amazing with the foster kittens in her home and respects all signs from the adult cats if they don't want to be bothered. She does well with the adult dogs in her house too, but is learning that she is not allowed to steal toys from them and that they will be removed if she does so.

She is being house-trained, doing great on her crate training and being set up for success. She still needs to continue her training, because she gets so excited at certain times, but she is learning how to control that. It means taking her out of her crate calmly in the morning, or when you come in from being away and getting her out the door immediately.

Leah would be fine with or without other dogs in the household, as long as she's getting enough regular exercise, to keep her healthy!

Leah and her litter-mates were rescued from a filthy hole in the woods where they had a den. We found out they had 1 can of dog food for the prior week, so they were eating dirt, sticks and the like. It does explain why she still resource guards her treasures and steals toys.
