Shippo Cattle Dog & Labrador Retriever Mix Hood River, OR

Shippo is 3 yr old Heeler/Lab mix who has been a devoted, loved and cherished pet, but his family is no longer able to care for him, and have made the difficult decision to find him a new forever home. Here are some notes from the foster home on this great dog: "This is Shippo! We have been fostering Shippo for 1 week. He is a 3 year olds Heeler mix. Wendell and him are becoming great buddies. My 2 cents as a " foster parent" are:
Shippo loves other dogs, especially large dogs, a home with a doggie friend would be ideal.
Shippo had some unfortunate experiences with humans, he needs someone who will be patient while he learns that not everyone is cruel.
Shippo loves to run. He has been busy in the orchard for long stretches of the day. He plays fetch, runs along side bikes and 4-wheelers. My point is, he needs an active home. No apartment dwelling for this spunky guy.
Shippo is also vocal. It is very funny to listen to him when he is entertaining himself. Grunts, growls, squeaks, etc. he also has great hearing so anybody coming up a driveway, to your front door, etc he k own about it and will let you know about them. Again, no close neighbors such as apartments are ideal.
He is very lovely once he trusts you. He has shown me his good traits, I know with the right person he will make an excellent companion. Lifetime companion." He'll wait politely before he eats, can play fetch for days, and is housetrained. Shippo is fine when left alone and loves car rides and time with his people. Laps are excellent, and kisses are plenty! Shippo is house trained, current on shots, microchipped and neutered. The adoption fee for Shippo is $205.
