Meet Stella
Stella is a gorgeous, 4 year old, long-haired gray Tortoiseshell, who was an owner surrender at Hardin County Animal Shelter before being pulled and taken to the Animal Refuge Center. It was obvious that Stella had never been around other cats before and at first she wasn't very good with them. Stella just had a lack of confidence and wanted to feel safe and secure. When Stella was in her cage she was calm and very sweet, but when she got around other kitties she became stressed and doesn't know how to act. We gradually introducing her to other kitties in one on one encounters a little at a time until we were comfortable putting her in a room with a few others. These days Stella is running free in our shelter with the vast majority of our kitties and does just fine, but her ideal home probably doesn't have very many pets and she would be just fine as an only cat.
Adoption Fees: $60 for Cats, $85 for Dogs
All our pets are spayed, neutered, and up-to-date on all shots. Our dogs have been tested and are presently on Heartworm prevention. The Animal Refuge Center has these and many more pets waiting for a good home. Note: The Animal Refuge Center has a "No-Declaw" policy. Our cats are too old to be declawed without risk of serious behavioral problems.
