Andrie Domestic Short Hair & Oriental Short Hair Mix Eau Claire, WI

Andrie is a beautiful and well-behaved 3-year-old female that was brought to the shelter as a stray. She was very thin, scared, sick, and pregnant, so off to a foster home she went for some much needed TLC. Luckily she had plenty of time to recover before giving birth to six beautiful kittens. Andrie is very smart and her mothering skills were highly extraordinary. Now that those kittens have been adopted and Andrie has been spayed, she is ready for the footloose and fancy free life of a single feline looking for her perfect forever home.

Andrie has gained back weight and her coat is by far more plush. Her personality is much like the oriental breeds. In her foster home she has been well socialized with older and younger cats as well as with dogs and gentle children. She does play with other cats, but is a more independent girl that you won't find cuddled up to them for an afternoon nap. She is cautious of strange dogs at first and ignores the one that she lives with. Andrie does well with gentle children, but does not like to be poked at or rough-housed with. When older children become too active or loud for her, you will find Andrie looking for higher ground, like at the top of a cat tree where she can feel safe just monitoring all the action going on below.

Andrie prefers a quiet home with a cat tree near a window where she can enjoy watching birds, squirrels, and other critters. She becomes very excited when something outside perks her interest, so a home without birds or small furry pets like hamsters is a must.

Andrie is playful with small catnip mice and LOVES chasing laser light dots across the floor. She also LOVES watching water run from the faucet. She is very sweet and likes to be brushed and given attention, but does NOT like to be held or cuddled in your arms long periods of time. She will come to you politely asking for attention by rubbing on your legs or jumping up near you, but is not demanding of your time. She wants to be scratched and petted while by your side instead of on your lap or in your arms.

She is excellent with the litter box and is very mindful when being told NO about something.
