Derby Hound & Shepherd Mix Minneapolis, MN

Hi, my name is Derby! My foster parents say I am the sweetest most lovable little guy! I am very friendly, and love my foster humans so much! At first I was not sure about sharing my new stuff with the resident dog, but I have gotten better very quickly, and we are becoming best friends. I am doing very well with potty training. My foster parents take me out about every hour and I have not had an accident in the house! I am that good! I also sleep through the night without needing to go out. My foster parents take me out on a leash, but when I am free to roam in the fenced yard I do not wander very far. I like hanging out with them. I am sometimes distracted by all of the new outside sounds. I really love my humans, and prefer to have them around all the time. I have been sleeping behind the baby gate in the hallway, although I would like to sleep on the bed with my foster family. I have been trying my best to sneak up there but I am not as quiet as I think I am. I am very sad when I can not see my humans and I don not like when they leave to go somewhere. I just love them soooo much!I I do not know if I like children or cats yet only because I haven’t met any of them yet! My foster mom is not worried though, because I am a sweetheart!

Derby is estimated to be 8.5 months old and 28 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
