Molly Brown Beagle & Hound Mix Louisville, KY

This 25-lb Beagle mix came to us with the name Molly and we just tacked on the Brown because she reminded us so much of the character in the movie, The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Only a year old in April of 2017, Molly has already proven her grit and determination by surviving a serious intestinal virus. We're not sure why her previous owner surrendered her to a rural county shelter - maybe they hit on hard times - but there's a chance that Molly's energy level and her love of 'talking' may have had something to do with it. Some people love the melodious bay of Beagles and Hounds while others find it as grating as nails on a chalkboard. If you fall into the former category, you'll appreciate Molly just wanting the world to know how happy she is when lets loose with a few 'roooos, roooos!' If, on the other hand, you prefer a quiet, more sedentary dog, Molly isn't the dog for you. Molly's previous owner didn't provide the other shelter with any history, but Molly seems to really like other dogs and if she's like most Beagles/Hounds she probably likes kids too. Often described as a 'nose on four paws,' Beagles should never be allowed off leash if not safely confined in a fenced in area. If Molly were to catch an enticing scent, she would be off in a flash. And let's face it - just about EVERY smell is enticing to a Beagle! A home with a nice big enclosed backyard where Molly can safely play and smell away to her heart's content would be ideal for her. If you would like to give Molly a loving and committed forever home, just stop by the shelter soon and ask to meet her. She can't go to her new home until after she's spayed, but we are taking applications on her now.
