Description: Freeway came into rescue after lingering perilously over the San Tan freeway and Gilbert Rd. How she got there, nobody knows but two young girls came to her rescue. They carried her to PetSmart. That's when she entered rescue. After searching tirelessly for her family, it was clear they were nowhere to be found. We don't know anything that predates the freeway save but it is clear that Freeway has had some tough days before entering into rescue which causes her to be a bit cautious despite desperately wanting love and affection.
Freeway is a very loving cat on her terms at this time. She purrs the minute you approach her, yet she is very cautious to allow you to pet her. She will rub on your hand and allow you to rub under chin, but her belly and feet are off limits. She will let you know when she has had enough with a hiss and worst case, a slight nibble, but has never been aggressive. She uses the hissing as a warning that her guard is up.
She is actually gentler with children than adults as long as they know how to handle her. Her very special trait is that she is a polydactyl which will require nail trimming. Freeway has had a rough life and it is clear that all she wants to do is find a place where she can take a deep breath and relax while sitting in a window or cat tree watching the day go by.
· Good with Cats: She would like to be in an only kitty home.
· Good with Dogs: She would be fine with well-mannered and kitty-friendly dogs.
· Good with Children: She does well with children who are patient and loving.
Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested, receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption.
