Too often, the nicest little dogs have the rottenest luck. Such is the case with Bob, a 12-lb, approximately 5-6 year old, long-haired Chihuahua. Because Bob is so affectionate, friendly, and well-mannered, he must have been loved and well-cared for by someone at some point. However, when he was found stray in a rural county, no owner came forward to claim him. Fortunately, we had Bob transferred to our shelter to give him a much-deserved second chance at a happy future. But bad luck wasn't done with little Bob just yet. When we took him to the vet for a suspected bladder infection, it turned out the little fella had an enlarged prostate and the vet said she suspected Benign Prostatic Hypertension. At her advice, Bob was immediately neutered and his prostate is expected to return to its normal size in a couple of weeks or so. Through all this, Bob has remained his sweet and lovable self endearing him to everyone involved in his care. It's hard NOT to love a dog as adorable as Bob! Because he was a stray, we don't know if Bob is house-trained but he sure hates having to potty in his kennel and, even before his neuter, would hold it for hours and hours. After all he has been through, Bob truly deserves a loving and committed home with someone who will make sure he lives out the rest of his considerable remaining life as a cherished canine companion.
