Meet Jackson

Jackson is a giant (165 lb.) slobbery love of a dog. He loves people and loves attention and having his hair brushed. We have determined that he needs to be the only dog in his next home. He is 5 years old and has had all his vet care. He loves car rides and is used to daily walks. We think needs a home without cats or other dogs. He has not lived with young kids, so we would like to find him a home with kids over the age of 12. He is not good for the vet and will need to be muzzled. He is heavier than he should be and should have an owner committed to slimming him down since it is better for the giant dogs to keep them lean. He knows basic commands such as Sit, Down and Come.

His adoption fee is $150.

We give priority to people that fill out our adoption application, so if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, that is the first step. E-mail inquiries about a dog are not considered an application.

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our dog adoption fee for dogs 5 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
