Groot Update: Groot has been professionally trained and knows all basic obedience skills, plus shake, speak and a few other tricks. He is a very laid back dog and wants a family he can call his own. He lives with a small female dog and is very obedient...he wants to be with his family and loves everyone. He should be placed with a female to have a better match.

Groot is great with kids, and even tho he is quite the big boy, he is very gentle. He is non destructive and doesn’t need to be crated when left. He does not like being left alone for long periods and loves his fenced back yard. Groot loves to do whatever his family asks of him, he will chill on the couch or venture out on a long walk. He loves car rides and loves his obedience classes. He is already trained, house broken and ready to fit into someone’s life. He is just waiting for his person or family.

Are you a "real dog" kind of person? Want a dog that you can take hiking and get muddy with? A dog that jumps into the Jeep or SUV and goes to the beach with you but then goes home and cuddles while you have a beer? We have the perfect dog - Groot!

Groot is 3 1/2 years old, house broken, crate trained, sits, downs, speaks. He's good with other dogs, very well behaved. All he need is a home where he can be a dog and run and get wet and muddy on occasion.

Groot will only be placed into a forever home that is located within 1.5 hours of Lake and McHenry Counties in Illinois...(sorry, NO exceptions).** His adoption fee is $200 which covers ALL his vetting, he is of course neutered and up to date on shots.
