Luna American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Eau Claire, WI

Hi There! My name is Luna and I was surrendered to the shelter on 08/30/18 as my previous owner developed health issues and could no longer care for me. I thrive on all of the love and attention that comes my way and will return that love tenfold. I am a beautiful 2-year-old spayed female waiting for a home without small children. Kids over 12 or of an adult size would be fine. This is because I can be quite excitable and jumpy over good things like going for a walk.

A home with a large fenced in yard where we could play or have fun with additional trick and obedience training would be a dream-come-true; especially since taking me to formal basic obedience classes is a requirement of adopting me. I am a smart young lady that is housebroken and I know sit, stay, and come; but my favorite command is down - which is very fast with both paws out and is sure to put a smile on your face. I am currently working on how to calm myself when I get anxiously excited about going for walks. I currently will bite the leash and may jump up on you (especially when first taken outside), but I understand the work NO and will listen to a firm voice. With some people I am very good and will refocus easily, so we know that my excitement is definitely manageable.

I know that I am a bit of a diamond in the rough when it comes to leash manners, but with plenty of exercise and a firm but loving owner I am sure to quickly blossom into a well-behaved, loyal member of your household. Off leash I am a super sweet girl that loves to lean into you for attention, and I do well with strangers and other dogs. I can also be trusted to be alone in the house for extended periods of time.

There are a lot of dogs here at the shelter, so if you don't see me I am most likely spending time in a more quiet part of the building. Please ask to see me because I am sure that you will fall in love with me, and I already love you!
