Maximus Domestic Long Hair Eau Claire, WI

Maximus is a neutered male that joined our shelter family on 03/09/17 as his previous owner had passed away. He is monumental in size, but calm in temperament. This 3-year-old bundle of fluff tries hard to keep his long coat looking handsome, but like all felines with a long coat, Maximus will need a home that is willing to brush and comb him often to keep his coat from becoming matted. He loves being brushed and does very well with getting a bath and having his nails trimmed. He does well with some dogs, but not with all of them. Maximus will need a home without small children, However, older, gentle children would be fine. He has not been tested with cats. Maximus loves being petted and offers a quiet purr along with kneading paws when being given attention. This mellow fellow is independent and adventurous, but also enjoys relaxing near a window while watching critters and birds go about their day. The chaos of being a shelter resident has been difficult for Maximus, and his condo has become his safe place at the shelter. He may need a few minutes to get to know you before showing you his sweet and playful personality, but it is well worth going slow at first. Maximus will do best in a quiet home.
