Meet Lil Bit
Lil Bit is such a sweet, playful and silly cat. He's approximately six years old and came to the Shelter after he was abandoned in an apartment when his owner moved away. He loves attention from people and makes the most of his out-of-cage time by playing with toys, lying in the sun and bird watching. When it isn't his turn to be out of the cage he will roll on his back and do everything to divert attention away from the other cats in an attempt to persuade our volunteers to let him out. He really is a clown and quite amusing.
Although he checked out at the veterinarian as healthy, Lil Bit is FIV+ and should either be the only kitty in his new home or live with a compatible cat. FIV is spread to other cats only through deep bite wounds and can not be spread to people or dogs. FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives if kept indoors, fed a high-quality diet and brought to the vet for regular check-ups. You can learn more about it on the Cornell Vet School's website: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/health_information/brochure_fiv.cfm
To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out the adoption application from this page:

If a cat is listed on our website, that means that cat is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our adoption fee for adult cats is $125. Our kitten adoption fee (cats up to 6 months old) is $160 for a single kitten or $260 for a pair. The adoption fee includes the first set of vaccines, dewormer, microchip, combo testing (for FeLV and FIV) and spaying/neutering when old enough.
