Meet Oreo
Oreo's past has been far from easy and now he needs a gentle soul to help him forget it ...
***Please make sure to read this in its entirety as Oreo needs a very specific foster/forever home!*** he has come A LONG WAY with his EXPERIENCED foster , Judi Rattien and NEEDS someone to CONTINUE his training .
Oreo was rescued from a high kill shelter a few months back. Unfortunately, he was not placed in the right home as he does have some behavioral issues and there were three children in the house. The family relinquished him to Road to Home Rescue in hopes of them finding him a forever home that was appropriate for him .
On top of all of this, the trainer that Oreo worked with prior to him being relinquished did not guide this family in the right direction at all!! We believe that it is only made things more difficult for this poor dog and this poor family. He encouraged the family ( including the 6 year old daughter) to put the dog in a head lock and to bang pots and pants on the crate when the dog becomes aggressive or barks in the crate. ( PLEASE DO NOT FOCUS ON WHO THIS TRAINER IS - IT WILL BE ADDRESSED).
He needs an experienced owner who will work with a trainer that will recondition him the appropriate way and someone who will honor their commitment to him .We do not know his past, but do know that he is very uncomfortable in his own skin because of it . He needs a QUIET, LOW TRAFFIC HOME where he is the ONLY pet .
