UPDATE 5/25/17!! Chicagoland Eskie Rescue's Liberty! Liberty has been with CER for a little while now, but he has been to training....and we have continued his training since he left camp! Liberty is doing FANTASTIC!! Liberty has several human friends that he adores; he LOVES attention and LOVES to play, and play, and play! Liberties "thing" is TOYS, and MORE TOYS!!! Liberty LOVES his toys and takes his ownership of his toys VERY seriously ~ he does not like to share his toys, and to be frank about it, he will not share his toys.....Liberty tends to be rather "alpha" and sometimes a doggie just needs to get his way! A 'pick your battles' kind of thing, let him have his toys! He is walking very well on leash, can walk past other dogs without incident, listens well, comes to call, knows his name, and he very much wants a very attentive engage owner to worship! Liberty will be bored with an owner that works aka is gone 8-12 hours a day. Liberty will do best with an owner that is home, works from home, part time, etc. Liberty is very smart boy and thrives on being engaged in an activity. He will do best as an only dog, or perhaps a doggie sibling that is submissive, not attention seeking, and does not like toys!!!! Liberty is neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, microchipped and ready to find his forever home!!! :) I'll be blunt....please do not come forth for Liberty if you have a playful, attention seeking, toy loving dog! But if you have recently lost your beloved Eskie and are "toying" with (pardon the pun) getting another, Liberty is a fantastic companion and will not disappoint!!! Liberty is about 7 - 7 1/2 yrs old and approx. 25 lbs. Liberty is in the Chicago area!

Liberty, his given name, born of the 4th of July, and Bert his nickname, is a stunning 7 year old adult male American Eskimo Dog. He is gorgeous, smart, obedient and comes when called. Liberty came into rescue as an owner surrender after his human daddy passed away and his human mommy could not care for him by herself. Liberty is playful, enjoys walks, as well as a place to roam, so a fenced yard would be ideal. He is best suited to be an only dog OR with a submissive female dog companion; he tends to be very competitive with male dogs, especially a male with an alpha type personality. Liberty LOVES his toys, and has a basket of toys to call his own; he can be rather over protective of his toys. Liberty has been crate trained and is housebroken. The perfect home for Liberty will be with an active couple who enjoy the outdoors. Liberty will not be adopted to a family with children; he previously lived with an older couple, no children. Liberty is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and on Heartgard Plus, and he is microchipped. Liberty has his own collar, harness and leash set. He also has his own wire crate, as well as a few other supplies to take to his new furever home. Please no small children and no cats.
