Meet Peanut (declawed front paws)

Peanut was surrendered to the shelter on 01/06/17. He's an 11 year old neutered male, and his front paws have been declawed. He does have a lump on his right shoulder that doesn't bother him, but it has been diagnosed as something that should be removed. If you cannot adopt Peanut, but would like to make a donation towards this surgery to help him find a home, he sure would be grateful. Older black cats are the most difficult to find homes for and his surgery will cost slightly over $200.00. He is a wonderful cat that deserves a better chance for an equally wonderful home. Peanut is very laid back and looking for a nice retirement home. He'd be a terrific TV watching buddy or maybe helping you build a puzzle. He'll likely be offering his silent opinion of how well you're doing, from the most comfortable spot he can find, while still supervising your activities. Adopting an older cat is a good choice if you are looking for a calm and quiet companion. The wild kitten days are in the past, but even older cats still like to play, just not all night when you're trying to sleep! He would likely appreciate a nice grooming session with a brush, especially before nap time. Peanut has returned from vacationing in a foster home, which gave us more information about him. Peanut was GREAT with the 3 cats and a dog in his foster home. He did like to be in the same room with his foster mom, but hadn't been jumping up on her lap quite yet. We want to alert you that some communities, landlords, management companies, and insurance agencies have size and breed restrictions, limits on number of pets, and/or require pet deposits or additional fees. Before adopting, we encourage all adopters to know what restrictions may apply to you.
