Luna Pit Bull Terrier Mix Medfield, MA

Update: Luna has spent the last two months in a foster home with one of our volunteers. She is doing really well and has just completed a basic obedience course and nose work classes. She loved both classes and got so excited when she saw the building where the nose work class is held.

Luna is playful, exuberant and so affectionate. She likes to go for walks and is very enthusiastic in her greetings. It is easy to become friends with her if you have a treat for her, but she can be wary of strangers, although she gets better with that every day.

She loves toys and balls and her foster mom has purchased lots of them for her. Her tail wags constantly. The obedience trainer loved her and said Luna loves to work. She is approximately 5 years old and is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She is good with other dogs and loves to play. We want to place her in a home without young kids because she is enthusiastic and will throw herself at you out of sheer excitement. She can be tentative around new people, especially men, and that is something her new owner is going to need to continue to work on. Her foster mom has done a fantastic job getting her out into new social situations, and the nose work classes have really helped to build her confidence around new people. Luna's adoption fee is $100.

We give priority to people that fill out our adoption application, so if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, that is the first step. E-mail inquiries about a dog are not considered an application.

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Luna's adoption fee is $100. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
