Caesar Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix Troy, VA

Caesar came to us from a rescue in Florida, and is searching for his forever home. He is your typical puppy, and while totally deaf, he is definitely full of energy and puppy kisses. He seems very smart and will likely learn hand-signals fairly quickly.

He has the most beautiful blue eyes. He is great with other dogs, is obviously fine with babies and kids (see pics), shows interest in cats, but not much history yet. The cat that he did meet was very laid back and when Caesar wanted to play, the cat just walked away.

This little guy will need lots of attention and play time, and regular outings. He is dealing with a little bit of separation anxiety, but now that he has settled in a little and feels safe, he is adapting nicely. When you consider that at the very young age of 5 or 6 months, he has already gone from his original family (who turned him into a shelter for being deaf), he was then saved by a 'deaf animal rescue', then stayed with a temporary transport foster, and 2 local foster homes, it makes sense that he is a little leery being left alone. At least for now, Caesar would prefer a home with a stay-at-home parent, or at least one who is not gone for long stretches of time. After all, he is just a puppy. He is working on crate training, and when taken outside regularly for potty breaks, he does great! He has been sleeping through about a 6-hour night before needing to go out. That will get longer as he gets older. He does chew, but is working on learning what is a toy, and what is not.

We are not totally sure of the mix breed, but records show Catahoula mix. He is small - 20 lbs at this point (32 as of 11/18), but again, not knowing the exact mix, it's hard to tell exactly how big he will get.
