GASTON Domestic Short Hair & Tabby Mix Grand Rapids, MI

Well, it is the 6th of November, 2016 and I am just now sitting down to type the long awaited biography of one of my favorite, most freakin’ fabulous cats EVER! Seriously, gorgeous 3 year old Gaston (born in the fall of 2013) has claimed my heart as his very own, though I do have to share him with the ladies at the clinic and a special friend of mine who is as charmed by his charisma and magnetism as I am! Even with a gaping neck wound that had plagued him for over a month prior to his live-trapping and rescue by our very own zoo vet, this guy was calm, cool, collected and confident; in fact he would saunter up and down the clinic hallways with a lion’s presence—and the gentleness of a little lamb:)

We suspect that he got himself caught up inside of a car engine and was attacked by a fan blade, tearing his tender flesh down deep into the muscle layers, resulting in a nasty infection and tissue trauma that ultimately required FOUR separate surgeries in order for me to be able to repair the damage done. Through it all, Gaston was the epitome of graciousness and gallantry, never once complaining—though if tearing off his protective E. collar or wearing it like a shirt counts, then he did give me a teeny bit of trouble:) However, because he is so stinkin’ cute and endearing, all was forgiven, and he forged ahead fearlessly, making oodles of friends, human and furry alike, as he took Big Sid’s by storm; yes, our great guy tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Viral status be damned, as that isn’t going to stop this sweetheart who hasn’t a mean bone in his body from getting himself a home of his own now that he has healed and is all in one piece again!
Gaston simply excels at EVERYTHING he does, so naming him was a no brainer:
“No one's slick as Gaston
No one's quick as Gaston
No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston's
For there's no man in town half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon!”
And although some with lesser constitutions may have said he appeared quite beastly upon arrival, Gaston has always been a beautiful to all of us! He is SOOO extremely social that he is almost always found smack dab in the middle of things, not hogging the spotlight but happily sharing the spotlight. He is a dynamo, dashing and daring, with an exuberance that is contagious. Can ya tell I adore him? I speak for everyone who has had the extreme pleasure of making his acquaintance, as he is a phenomenal cat and companion! Oh, and I almost forgot: he is a HUGE, handsome, hunk of cat, weighing in at 15# of solid, healthy muscle, brawn and beguiling beauty!
