NOTE: Because Lizzie is so timid, more than one visit will be required. For this reason, only applications from the Chatham Kent region will be considered.

Gets along with other dogs? Yes, does not pay attention to them unless they come near her food while she is eating, then she will growl.

Lizzie is a very timid, loving 6 year old Shih Tzu. As she becomes more familiar with her home, new people and pets, she becomes more outgoing. She is great with adults and has not been tested with kids but would probably be fine with respectful children. She is a big cuddler but waits for you to initiate it as she does not seek you out for attention.

Further practice is needed for her to feel more comfortable on leash. This little girl likes her space and the ability to independently explore her environment. Lizzie responds to her name and will come when called. She has difficulty going down stairs or getting off of furniture but goes up stairs on her own.

She is great in the car, just sits on the seat, looks around and does not make a peep.

Lizzie would do well with someone who is usually home to help her overcome some of her fears and insecurities. She is quiet and respectful and does not need to be crated. She has access to a crate in which the door is always open and she enters and leaves it at will for her own comfort.

Lizzie is afraid of big dogs but needs another small dog as a buddy in the home.
