Kirby Domestic Short Hair Eau Claire, WI

Hello! My name is Kirby and I am named after my favorite superhero! When I was an even smaller guy than I am now, I was found in the middle of oncoming traffic on the highway. I know, I know, that was NOT a good place for me to be spending my time, but I couldn't help it. You see, I was trying to escape rising water! Remember when we got all that rain? Well, it was flooding my house! Even worse, all that wetness had given me such a bad cold I could barely see anything at all! So there I was, a mostly helpless little kitten just trying to get to somewhere dry...and that's how I, just a tiny guy, ended up blindly dodging mortal danger... I was terrified! I didn't know what to do! One wrong step and my story would end! Thankfully, though, I suddenly found myself scooped up and held close. I didn't really know what was happening, but I knew I wasn't in danger anymore. I had been rescued! My rescuer took me to the Eau Claire County Humane Association, where I was wrapped in warm blankets, cleaned up, and given my first meal in what felt like ages. I heard the nice people there talking about the nice man who had brought me in. They had decided to name me Kirby - one of the names of the man who had saved me! I couldn't be happier! After all, if they are impressed with him for saving me from the middle of the road, imagine how I feel! Since my heroic rescue, I have been living in a foster home. In my foster home, I have a foster mom and dad who like to cuddle. We also live with two adult cats and a bunny. The adult cats have taught me things about how to act like a cat, but they are older and don't really want to play with me that much. The bunny plays with me more but, quite frankly, I think the way he plays is a little weird. I love my foster family but, if I'm totally honest, they're a little boring. I mean, just look at how exciting my life has been so far! I want to play and be active! I would fit in really well in an active home. I LOVE to play, and haven't found a toy I don't like. I would REALLY like to have another cat to play with, and I have heard really good things about the small humans - I've been told that, as long as they are old enough to know to watch their feet and be gentle with their hands, they can make some of the best playmates! I don't really like to be held all that much, mostly because there are just so many fun things to do! I do, however, like to take naps near (and sometimes on) people and, whenever possible, in the light of a sun beam. In fact, I think I'll probably do more and more of that as I get older - It seems like a nice way to spend time. I am a brown tabby with white paws. I am not declawed and I am not quite old enough to be altered. I love to play, and I would like my forever home to have cats and people who would like to play with and cuddle me. I do well with other cats and bunnies, and I am young enough to learn to get along with nice, gentle dogs.
