Meet Anna

Please meet Anna! A 4 year old Australian Labradoodle, Anna is looking for her forever family.

*/*/*/* Anna WILL NOT be adopted to a home with a small dog, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, and the like. She is HIGHLY prey driven, as is a characteristic of both her breed lines. */*/*/*

FOSTER UPDATE:

Anna is leash trained, likes to go for walks, and prefers to do her business while out on a walk - as a matter of fact, that's the only way she will go, from what we have seen. Her previous owners indicated that she loves to play out in the yard, but we have not seen that side of her, as yet. She has done well with 2 of the other 3 dogs in the foster home, but seems to be wary of the larger female. She has not been around a smaller dog while in foster, but previous owner has said that she will attack little dogs (smaller than herself), as she has a VERY high prey drive. We have seen no food or toy aggression, but she is still wondering what the heck happened, so is not willing to eat with the other dogs, so far. With that, we cannot attest to her reaction being fed around other dogs. Food has been left in her crate during the day, and she is apparently eating it. She has toys and does not seem to be toy aggressive, thus far. Anna has only been with us one week, so many, many things are new to her. Thus far, her personality would be considered calm over high energy. That could certainly change when she becomes more comfortable in her surroundings.

*** UPDATE *** Anna has now been around children and seems to do just fine. If your children have been trained to be tolerant of dogs, and the proper way to play around and with a new dog (eg: do not pull hair or tail, a dog is not a chair to sit on, do not take the food bowl away when the dog is eating, do not get right down into the dog's face, etc.), Anna should be fine. Of course, we would require that the children be brought to a meet and greet.

She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, heart worm negative, and knows some great basic commands. She is housebroken, crate trained, and does well with MOST other dogs, but does best with boys. She has shown no aggression toward people. There is no question that she WILL kill squirrels and other small animals that happen into the yard.

She weighs approx 25 lbs

She is being fostered in Troy VA.
