Why is Kala so so sad? Because not a single person has applied to adopt her. This petite Shep mix is around 45lbs. In typical shepherd fashion she is wary of strangers but loyal as can be to those she knows as family. She is quick to bond and sticks close to those she loves. Kayla is up to date on vaccines and has been spayed. She was a great momma to her babies but now that they have gone on to their new homes, she is in need of a place to call her own. Because she can be protective and does take some time to warm up, we would prefer she go to a home with either older children or no children at all. She does however get along great with other dogs and is currently being fostered with 7 others, both boys and girls, little and big. Kala is being fostered in Crozet VA.
Kala's babies have all been adopted, leaving her to some alone time !! She has been spayed and is ready to find her very own furever family now! Could you be the one for her??
Kala is a German Shepherd mix, about 2 years old. She has 5 beautiful 6-week old puppies, who are the love of her life ! Kala comes to us from a rather unusual hoarding situation, where in her humans loved her VERY much, but were just not able to take care of the 22 dogs they had saved from running loose in this cruel world. So, they reached out for help and now Kala is enjoying the finer things in life, and has a wonderful and safe place to care for her babies.
Kala is a calm, very loving girl who just wants someone to love her for who she is, and who she can become! She will be a loyal member of someone's family, and needs someone who will care for her, and be there for her for the rest of her life. Kala never knew anyone but her humans, so she might be a little stand-offish with new people, but she is used to being around other dogs. She had probably never been for a ride in a car, or even a walk on a leash, so she will need a little help getting used to how you do things.
