Meet Jelly!

You can’t keep this pup down! Jelly was brought into foster after being hit by a car. She had a broken pelvis, broken tail, a severe laceration on her head, and bruising all over. Even with her extensive injuries she was happy to see everyone and, although she would cry out in pain, she did not try to bite.

Jelly was seen by the surgeons at Virginia Veterinary Specialists for repair of her pelvis. The fracture was partially healed which means she had been hit by a car at least twice in her short life. This old injury has been repaired as best as possible but she will always have a bit of a hitch in her gait though this doesn’t slow her down.

She has been spayed, had her Rabies and DHLPP and Bordetella vaccines. She is heartworm negative. She has been dewormed and has had a recent negative fecal.

Jelly is approximately 2 years old. She LOVES kids, going for walks, and playing with toys. Jelly does not hesitate to let other dogs know how she feels and because of this she would do best as an only dog or with dogs that will not respond when confronted. Jelly loves to spend time lying outside and would be happiest with a fenced yard or having someone sit out with her. She would do best in a home with someone who can take her out regularly to potty or to teach her how to use a dog door as she is not totally housebroken yet.
