Boots Coonhound Eau Claire, WI

Hi There! My name is Boots, and I am a 1-and-1/2-year-old Red Tick Coonhound that became a resident of the shelter on 9/04/16. I am a spayed female in need of a home without children. I have not had formal obedience training and so I am still learning how to be good. My forever home must also be one that will make sure that I get plenty of exercise in order to stay happy and healthy. I am easy going and good-natured, but I sure can be strong on leash when catching the scent of something that I think should be chased. My nose starts working fast and I let out a howl to let you know that something has crossed our path not too long ago. I do listen if you are firm with me, but my heart wants to go on an adventure to see if I can find that critter. I know sit, and did well when tested with a cat. I also do well with some dogs, but not with all of them. There was another coonhound here at the shelter not too long ago that became my best friend. He has since been adopted, and I am happy for him, but I sure hope that someone falls in love with me soon too. I will do best with a family that loves the great outdoors, and would take me hunting, jogging, biking, or maybe swimming. A large fenced in yard where I can run and play would be great too. I love people and want to be your lifelong pal and best friend. I like to cuddle and I want to be a well-behaved member of your household. I am smart, eager to learn new things, and I am anxious to meet you!
