Meet Darwin

Darwin is a very sweet and cuddly neutered male kitten, with a short, orange tabby coat. His whiskers are short because one of his siblings happens to think that it is fun to chew on them. Don't worry, this is common among kittens and the whiskers will grow back. Darwin was only 3 days old when he was surrendered to the shelter on 3/11/16, along with his siblings Gumball and Kira. The previous owner simply had too many cats and were no longer able to care for all of them. Darwin is good with strangers and gentle children. He also does well with other cats and dogs that he knows, but was very cautious about approaching them at first, and may need extra time to adjust to other animals in a new home. He loves to cuddle, and offers an instant loud purr of contentment when you hold him. Darwin is fast to melt into your lap for attention. He is a lover boy and has always been the spoiled baby of his litter. He makes cute little squeaky noises instead of loud meows as his way of telling you all about his day. Darwin enjoys spending time watching wildlife from windows, but also enjoys chasing and playing with his siblings. His favorite toys are ball track toys, feather toys, fabric catnip mice, and he REALLY enjoys wand toys with a human attached to the other end, or toys that dangle. He is a bit clumsy and has a harder time catching the toys, but when he does, you will hear him growl and try to run off with it. Darwin is very sweet, and is in need of a gentle, quiet household. He is excellent with the litter box and knows what a scratching post is to be used for. If you are thinking about adopting two kittens for double the fun and enjoyment, Darwin would love to go home with one of his siblings. Keep in mind that when you adopt two cats, the adoption fee for the second one is half of the regular price. Note: Darwin is NOT allowed to be declawed. He is currently spending time in a foster home. To set up a time to meet him at the shelter please call (715) 839-4747 ext. 21.
