BIG DADDY Domestic Short Hair Grand Rapids, MI

Well, December 2011 certainly brought us a wealth of cats to our sanctuary, three of them coming directly from Carol's Ferals, a local TNR rescue that works with many caretakers of feral colonies all over the city. Luckily these boys had guardian angels and made it into Carol's, where they tested positive for FIV; not only are we now able to stop them from spreading the virus by neutering them and controlling their hormonal fighting tendencies, but we also get them safely off the streets. Now none of the boys we took in that month are mean, nasty old curmudgeons, but rather uber-affectionate, outgoing, easy to get along with fellas who simply found themselves uprooted, intact and on their own.

Big Daddy, born in the winter of 2007, couldn't be sweeter, sillier or simply more handsome than he is:) He is 13 pounds (his intake weight) of butter melting in your hands, belly rolling over for rubbing, head-butting yours for 'skritchies' as we call them:) I immediately fell head over heels for HIM, as he is so charming and cat-charismatic that it was a done deal once I laid eyes (and hands) on him. Now he can be just as playful and feisty as some of our younger cats, and with his size, when he rough and tumbles, you know it:) No worries, as he prefers lap time with us humans, and snuggle-buddying up with a warm body! And need I say more about that gorgeous face with that striking white goatee? HANDSOME!!

We are so fortunate at Sids because we get the BEST cats in off the streets; cats that wouldn't stand a chance at other rescues, simply for the fact that they don't have the ways or means to house FIV cats. I cannot imagine a world without cats like Big Daddy in them; he and the others here have so enriched MY life! Have I gushed enough? Nope!
